Poso, Central Sulawesi, (antarasulteng.com) - A police officer and two suspected terrorist regency of were killed in a shootout in the regency of Poso, Central Sulawesi on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the village of Sanggginora, sub-district of Poso Pesisir Selatan,at around 20.00 local time when police stopped a car with two suspected terrorist in side.
Sr. Comr Bona Lubis that led the police operation said police received intelligence report about two suspicious people in the village shopping for foodstuff.
The two men believed to be members of the Santoso terrorist group resisted police order for investigation and lifted their guns that led to the exchange of fires.
The police officer killed in the shootout was identified as WS who was shot at the head.
Police still investigated the identities the two suspected terrorist.
Santoso and his followers are still hiding in the mountain jungle of Poso .
